My Most Empowering Moment

Hello Fellow Survivors and Friends,

I hope you're wrapping up a wonderful July. Have you been watching the Olympics like I have? I was so proud of Suni Lee for winning the Gold Medal the other day - it was such any uplifting day for Asian American women, especially those in the Hmong communities.

As I watched the Olympics coverage day and night, I thought back to the one time I got the opportunity to cover it in 2010. It was by far one of the most empowering moments for me. I was in my mid-20s and had the priceless privilege of filming stories from Vancouver, interviewing lifelong role models and pushing myself to the limit. Here is a vlog documenting that special journey:

I'm hoping I'll have more opportunities to either cover or enjoy the Olympics again. It's coming here (L.A.) in 2028, so that's definitely one I can look forward to.

What is something you did in your recent or more distant past that made you feel empowered and inspired? Remember that feeling when you're having a hard day. Thinking of such moments help keep me afloat when I struggle with self-doubt.

Wishing you a fruitful month ahead!

Love,

Christine
